ABC Christmas Challenge

Ladies, Christmas has indeed come early for 201o, to be exact Dec 30th 2009. This is launch day for the new sister ABC christmas challenge blog. Yes you did read correct not a misprint.

When I first read this on my friend Dawns blog I was so excited. The sheer thought of putting away my Christmas papers and stamps was simply heart breaking. Also yet again I failed this year to make a card for everyone and had to send some shop bought ones.So this challenge blog is perfect. I have also came across some gorgeous creations like boxes, gift bag and tags etc that I so wanted to make but again didnt have time.

So if you are like me always behind at Christmas why not pop over and join the girls. They also have a blog hop until Dec 30th.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and looking forward to seeing all your wonderful creations in 2010.

Another favourite blog of mine Sketch and Stash. If I ever need a sketch or inspiration it's the place to go. The simplicity works well allowing you to create amazing cards without the rocket science.

This card is for a teenager who is a very special girl indeed. Not only is she turning 12 in a few days time but someone who isturning into a very intelligent and beautiful young lady. The little girl is quicky fading and I really need to remind myself she is no longer the 4 year old flower girl at my wedding.

Below is my take on the sketch. Unfortunately the lighting is poor causing the card to look a bit wishy washy. They are looking for a guest designer so fingers crossed. If you want to join in the fun click here.

The ingredients ....

flowers- punched with value pm gemstones
cardstock-The Papermill
colouring-Whisper markers watercoloured using koi water brush

I wanted to make a very special card, not the usual square card so while blog hopping over a Mandy's sprinkling of glitter I found a blog called.Their challenge this week was an easel card and the best bit is they give you tutorials every week. For a novice like me it was perfect, give it a go it's so easy and the results are amazing. Unfortunately I didn't post my card in time for crazy 4 challenges but I had fun and my mum loved it.

Sugarbowl Challenge No22- Kathy sketch

This is my first ever entry for the sugar bowl challenge and I have to say what a challenge. To be honest my head was all over the place after receiving sad news regarding close friends of mine. I thought a challenge card would be a good distraction but it only gave me a headache and I didn't really enjoy my wee craft night. But lets move on and talk about my card.

I knew it had to be a christmas card since I have only made two to date.Pretty poor as I had high hopes for this year but he ho it's a start.Next challenge was deciding which image to use. The Sugar Nellie stamps are all beautiful but I finally decided to use winter wonderland so thankyou to my buddy mel for giving me such a wonderful image. Then I read you had to include lace, my first thought was oh my god I have no lace can't do challenge. But then I remembered Susie gave me a wee stash of ribbon when we meet up the other week so challenge card was back on the cards again.Choosing the papers was the easy part, I just love them not because they are beautiful but because they were a bargain aswell on craftsuperstore website.

When I finally finished my card I didn't really know what I thought of it, was it good, was it bad who knew. What I did know was I needed some sleep and soon.So your comments would be grateful on this one.

Below is this weeks sketch and why not pop over to the sugarbowl challenge blog and see the beautiful cards made by the DT members.

MAWTT Challenge No 15- Heidi's sketch & Theme

So here is the sketch and if you want to join in the fun why not pop over to MAWTT

***************

I have so missed my challenge cards these past few weeks and when that window of opportunity finally made an appearance, I jumped at the chance to join the girls over at Moving Along With The Times.

However don't be fooled,I also had another wonderful reason for crafting and here is my confession....

During a wee visit at Buzz (soft play) with the boys, my best bud Susie and her gorgeous wee boy Euan. I was given a wee stash and who was inside but the fabulous Daisy. Well, boy was I wishing it was bedtime for the boys!!!All afternoon all I could think about was Daisy and my gorgeous backing paper which I had been secretly keeping for Daisy.Which by the way has been months!!

So now I had Daisy and my papers, all I needed now was inspiration and a challenge and after seeing Heidi's sketch it was perfect.Well almost, the paper piercing was certainly a challenge as I had never used this technique before. To be completely honest I had no idea what to do and so I finally decided to paper pierce the stitching on Daisy's jeans and T-shirts.Hope this is ok girls.

***********

Here's my wee recipe..

*cardstock-The Papermill
*image-Daisy by Sugar Nellie @ Funkykits
*flowers-punched
*gems-vaule PM
*colouring-Whisper markers and Koi water brush
*sentiment-CC
*backing paper-sorry cant remember

cardstock was embossed using Cuttlebugs swiss dots embossing folder and my Sizzix Bigshot (gift from Susie)

Apology

Yes, thought I would apologise for being a bad blogger since last week.Hubby has been sent out to Romania with work and since last Wednesday it's been bedlam.I have entered no blog challenges, left few comments, no blog hopping and the worst of all no crafting and to be honest I feel like my limb has been cut off.

I have arranged a craft night with my friend and buddy Susie this Wednesday and hopefully I will get some crafting done tomorrrow.I am in the middle of making a box card for my sister in-law, who is bridesmaid to a friend of hers. The weddings not until the middle of October so still got a wee while to go.

I will try and keep in touch the best I can and please visit me and leave a wee comment, even just to say hi.

If you are up for the challenge below is Clare C's sketch and yet again its a good one.The theme this week is stitching whether it be real or faux.

This is my interpretation on Clare's sketch. To be honest when I first received this sketch my mind went utterly and completely blank, not that there's much in there at the best of times. So after a night of no inspiration whatsoever and worrying that I have lost my mojo, I decided that perhaps a good nights sleep is in order.Well it worked, the following day my mum mentioned she loved my maggie stamp and as it's her birthday the day after mine I just had to dedicate this card to my mum.

Here's the recipe
