Sarah Hurley- Autumn Glow

Evening all!
Well that's the school holidays over and my baby has started Primary 1 eeeeeek! Lump in throat moment but also very proud like any mum would be.

This month we have a brand new challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenges and our theme has been chosen by the lovely Jess. There has definately been a drop in temperatures these last few days so Autumn is well on it's way which just so happens to coincide with our theme, AUTUMN GLOW.
My project this month was so messy, resulting insome very inky fingers which took a bit of explaining to the other mums when I turned up at the school to collect the children but boy was it fun.
I'm not that brave when it comes to crafting but recently I have rather enjoyed being the new 'me' and I would highly recommend going out of your comfort zone.

First I started off with a piece of A4 acetate and created a background using Tim Holtz Aclohol Inks ( Sunshine Yellow/Sunshine Orange) and a blending tool.

Using a Sizzix die I cut out two tags, one from the acetate and another from some smooth white cardstock. I don't have ink that is suitable for stamping onto acetate instead I used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad (Vintage Photo) and stamped directly onto the white tag. The flowers, tree and grass are from Sarah Hurley's New Home stamp set. The circles were created using Sarah's Mini Background Stamp collection.....a must have!

The acetate tag was then adhered to the the white tag using double sided tape which I knew would be hidden later.

Next I stamped some text and a house image from Sarah's New Home collection (using TH Vintage Photo Distress Ink) onto smooth white cardstock. I also decided to use the super cute mini heart image and stamped it onto the roof of the house. These were then cut out and 3D pads were popped on the back then stuck on front of the acetate. Finally a fibre ribbon was added to give some texture and ta da!!!

Sarah Hurley Challenge - Texture & Dimension

Evening all!

Think I have had thee most chilled out day this year. Spend most of it in my craftroom then in my kitchen making some yummy chocolate muffins. It was great to just switch off and focus on the challenge ahead.

I'm sharing with you my first ever 12 x 12 scrapbook page which I have made for our new challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenges. I've made a couple of 6 x 6 pages before as I found the larger page just too daunting to start off with. The vast whiteness still scared me but I was ready to get out of my comfort zone, I mean what's the worst that could happen lol I have also entered my first ever scrapbook challenge, yikes!!

This month our challenge is set by the lovely Claire-Liz who has chosen the theme

TEXTURE & DIMENSION

The possibilities are endless so get creating and who knows like me you might try something a little different form the norm!

To enter and to check out the rest of the talented dt members work pop on over here!

Below is my contribution...

This is one of the many pictures I took when the boys and I went out for a wee cycle one night a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing what you can find right on your door step!

close up!

The red diagonal stripe paper, wood grain paper, wooden buttons and the documented badge are all from a selection of Sarah's 'A Few Of My Favourite Things' monthly club kit. I used 12x12 white hammered cardstock for texture and the buttons and badge for dimension. the clouds, mushroom and text are die-cuts and the random buttons are from my stash
