Baby boy box card

Another post for me tonight, they're a bit like buses nothing for ages then two come along at the same time hee.

I actually made this box card last week, it took me several nights as I had other stuff on but got there in the end. This is not my first ever box card probably my 5th but I was always finishing them off just before collection or forgetting to photograph them.

I was really pleased with this as it was my first time using my new baby sizzix dies.Only thing is Sophie my cat thought it would make a nice place to sit hence one side is up and the other is down.
Hubby actually took 61 pictures, yes 61 but thought 4 would be sufficient lol

*punch-hearts and flowers
*embellishments- all made using baby sizzix dies

Babies, babies and more babies

My goodness what a week, it's all been baby news whether it be babies born or mums to be. All the babies born have been boys and all the mums to be are due August, what's that all about.

Well no surprise what cards I will be posting over the next few days and just when I was beginning to get back to making my girly cards!!

There's another fabulous sketch over at Sketch and stash this week so I just had to have a go. And when allsorts announced their O for One paper well that got me thinking too!!

This is actually the second baby boy card I have made, the first one is lying flat on my desk drying so cant photograph hee hee.

I did warn you

I was at my friend Susie's the other night and I kind of stamped one or two images or three or four......and Arthur was one of them. I own one baby stamp and when you've got a few to make in the same week you don't really want to use the same stamp, perhaps that's just me!!

I can't believe how well this card turned out, after colouring Arthur blue I really thought I had made a boob. Although I loved the papers Mel sent me I wasn't entirely convinced they would work for a baby boy card.I thought that if I keep going on with what I had in mind for this card it might all come together in the end and I think it did. I would so love to hear what you think and any recommendations for baby boy/girls DP's.

I was also determined not to be running late with the Sugar bowl challenge and to my word it's well ahead of the deadline.

Finally I got round to using my clear gloss, bought it way back last year stuck it in a drawer and it's been there ever since. It doesn't really show up in my photo but in RL it looks pretty good if I do say so myself.

Happy Birthday Fiona

Hello peeps just realised the last entry date for the sugarbowl challenge is midnight tonight and I have just finished my card. It's for my friend Fiona's birthday who is also my secretary at toddlers.

When I saw the sketch I was stumped hence the lateness but had to enter just couldn't miss out on the chance to win those Mangas. You would not believe the amount of stamped heads I had to do before I could find one that fitted my nestie. My desk looks like something out of a horror film lol. It's been a while since I have done a monochrome card but seemed appropriate somehow for this card. It was also was quite refreshing not doing a square card, I might just dig out the others.I used up CC papers and cardstock from my stash so pat on the back for me.

The only thing that is niggling me is the embellishments, note to myself don't forget the deadline date so you don't do a rushed job!!!

My first Magnolia stamp

I know what you must be thinking...what took you so long??? I have asked myself the same question and the truth is I really don't know. Magnolia just came into my head when I was thinking which stamp to use for hubby's card Valentines'. Edwin reminds me of Andrew somehow but when I compare the two there is no resemblance at all, funny that!!!I also ordered the Magnolia magazine which I would highly recommend, I had a quick browse there was no way my kiddi winkles were getting their dirty wee hands on this. Will have a better look when I know they are safe in bed lol!

My friend Kirsty asked me to make a Valentines for her boyfriend so here it is, hope she likes it!!

Brother in law birthday card

My stamp collection consists mainly of people but recently I have been seen a lot of animal ones. Animals have been perfect when doing my boy/men cards and as many of you know I have had my fair share of them lately.

I would like to introduce you to this ever so cute lil mouse. His name is Cheddar and he is made by Sugar Nellie from Funky kits. What can I say but I just love him to bits hee hee. Being a cat lover myself I thought the big cats book was just hilarious.

Once again Truly Scrumptious has another fab sketch this week which Cheddar seemed to fit perfectly into. The sketch was great fun to work with and certainly one I would consider again.I cut Cheddar out as I wanted to highlight his curly tail and I am really pleased with the result.

I would love to hear what you think as I am always unsure of my cards for men.
